Senior Applications Engineer

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5-8 years experience in the field or in a related area
  • Extensive knowledge of flex manufacturing and/or laser micromachining processes
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated, team-player with attention to detail
  • Skilled MS Office user (Excel, Word)
  • Ability to read technical/dimensional drawings

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in working under ISO environment
  • Familiarity with Statistical Process Control
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Techniques

Roles and Responsibilities

Responsible for primary technical interface with customers during customer product/process development and as-needed for established customers. Researches, collects, and reports information on customer requirements and the ability and capacity of company processes and equipment to meet customer needs. Guides customers with design/technical tradeoffs during development. Aids in the design and development of equipment and processes, and redesign of existing processes to fulfill the needs of customers. Responsibilities also include providing process functionality and capability reports to the sales force, and acting as technical liaison to the sales team.

Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of Applications Engineering. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complex tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Account Manager


  • HS Diploma required.
  • Proficient in MS Office, specifically Excel.

The Flex circuit or Laser Account manager needs to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work exceptionally well both with customers and the internal MicroConnex team. The position requires knowledge and/or the strong desire to learn and implement lean manufacturing principles.

Preferred Skills:

  • Technical writing aptitude.
  • Knowledge of Flex circuit and laser machining applications.
  • BA preferred
  • Extended work on computer and telephone required.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Inside Sales within the FLEX Circuit and Laser Micromachining market
  • Responds to customer RFQs and generates quotes.
  • Accepts POs and plans jobs for production.
  • Works with customers and engineers on technical and sales issues.
  • Initiates and executes Kaizen events with a team.

The Flex circuit and/or Laser Account manager is the primary outside interface for the Flex circuit and/or Laser Value Stream. Duties include working with existing customers in a support role, and working with the sales team on new customer development. Other primary duties include working with management and engineering to plan jobs and schedule workflow in the shop. Secondary duties include procurement of materials/supplies and occasional shipping/invoicing.

  • Ability to read technical/dimensional drawings

  • Job may include any or all of the following: machine maintenance, chemical handling, working under microscope.

Roles and Responsibilities

Perform various steps of flexible printed circuit board manufacturing while following established SOP’s, holding quality and safety in the highest regards, and operating with good manufacturing practices and principles.
