Speaker Information
Dr. Robert Malakhov
Dr. Robert Malakhov is an Applications Engineer at MicroConnex, where he works closely with customers to develop manufacturable solutions for complex interconnect and miniaturization challenges. His expertise spans flexible hybrid electronics, advanced materials, microsystems engineering, and integrating emerging technologies into production-ready applications.
Prior to joining MicroConnex, Dr. Malakhov was a Materials and Process Engineer at NextFlex and served as a Technical Lead and Project Manager, leading advanced technology development programs focused on flexible electronic systems and next-generation manufacturing. His work included wearable health monitoring platforms for NASA astronauts and physiological monitoring technologies for military applications, requiring multidisciplinary collaboration across materials science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and system design.
Dr. Malakhov holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Microsystems Engineering from the University of New Mexico. His technical background and customer-focused approach make him a valuable resource for solving challenging design and manufacturing problems.
Scott Meza
Scott Meza is a manufacturing and operations leader with more than two decades of experience driving operational excellence, supply chain transformation, and continuous improvement across global organizations. Scott earned a Master's Degree in Operations Management from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, where he specialized in the Toyota Production System, the foundation of what is widely known as Lean Manufacturing in North America. Following graduate school, he joined the Toyota Supplier Support Center, where he worked directly with manufacturers across the United States, Canada, and Mexico to implement Toyota Production System principles and improve operational performance. He later joined Amazon.com, where he led initiatives to redesign the inbound supply chain process between vendors and fulfillment centers to improve product availability and in-stock positions. During his tenure, he built and managed high-performing teams in both the United States and India, enabling scalable operational improvements across the organization. Scott went on to lead West Coast fulfillment operations for Avery Dennison before joining Exotic Metals Forming Company, where he managed a team of Lean Engineers focused on driving performance improvements across multiple aerospace manufacturing facilities.
Today, Scott serves as Manufacturing Manager at MicroConnex, where he leads manufacturing operations and continues to apply Lean principles, operational discipline, and team development strategies to improve performance, quality, and customer satisfaction. Throughout his career, he has remained passionate about building great teams, developing people, and creating sustainable operational excellence.
